Green Awards

Speaking of awards... we've also been shortlisted for the Green Awards in their Green Packaging category for Squeaky Green: There's no greener packaging than no packaging! Our entry described how much plastic we're saving by getting people to use our shampoo bars, the benefits of having fewer lorries on the roads and how creativity can help us all be greener.
Awards ceremony is on November 12th! It will be great if we win a packaging category with no packaging! I'll keep you all posted.

but you also ship that (SINGLE) shampoo bar all the way to tanzania, if someone orders it and is willing to pay the shipping cost. doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of being all environmental? don't get me wrong, i'm not against shipping, it just seems that this no packaging philosophy is sometimes more about cutting expenses and increasing profit that about saving the environment.
shampoo bars and hennas, even soaps are ok, but bath bombs and bubble bars sometimes loose all their scent/fizz while sitting on shelves for months, naked. doesn't a flimsy plastic foil make sense, when it's about preserving the quality of the product? it can't be so much worse for the environment than shipping the same bomb around the world...
